Marrakesh to Ourika Valley
Day tour starts from Marrakesh and ends in Ourika Valley.
Marrakech is located to the north of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. A mountain range that stretches through Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. The High Atlas cut from the Draa Valley in the south and from the valley of Imlil, Ourika and Zat in north. Also, Marrakech is a starting point for many day trips thanks to its geographical location.
You can start off from your hotel and head out towards the valley of Ourika. After that, travel through the Berber village of Sitti Fatma where you can have lunch at a Berber cafe. On Mondays, you wouldn’t want to miss visiting the public market (souk) in Tnin, the center of the valley, as it’s an opportunity to have a taste of the rural life.
The waterfalls are about 45-60 min walk, a local guide will be provided if you decide to go. You will be taking long walks on unpaved paths, and the climbing to see the waterfalls is quite steep, so please wear appropriate and comfortable shoes.
The walk includes Oukaimeden. This area is closed during winter months due because of the snow. Weather permitting, you can choose to return to Marrakesh on the road that circles the valley of Ouirgane.
